Umbra Cornuta Tremendous start for Oil Spill! Swept me off my feet from the first seconds with a blast of spiteful growls and menacing instrumentals. The atmosphere is raw, sludgy, powdered with irresistible punkish, psychedelic accents. I was impressed by the legerity with which the female vocalist managed to display such a ferocity and maliciousness in her voice. I hope to hear more from them in the future! Favorite track: Great Black Pit.

Sam Tjahjono Dirty Texas BM that unites buttoned-up Kralliceheads and unwashed gutterpunks alike

Each track blends the bass-heavy sludge/doom of bands like Hell and Primitive Man with the swirling, high-concept BM of Yellow Eyes and Krallice. The sludgy bits are the thick, sweet molasses base to the BM bits, which are a bit like snakes being puréed alive in a blender.
